Unite have today announced that they have given BAA, Britain’s biggest airport operator, 7 days notice of their intention to hold a ballot for strike action.
The dispute is over pay and relates to missing a target that would have released a payment to employees.
The target was missed by 3%.
The ballot will cover 6185 employees at 6 UK airports. If it goes ahead it has the potential to close those airports.
