Susan Popoola

Susan Popoola has been active within HR for over 15 years. Always taking a pragmatic perspective as well as a "pure" HR viewpoint, Susan’s work encompasses all areas of employee relations as well as demonstrating a strong focus on change and talent management, process improvement, business community engagement, systems implementation, policy and new legislation.

A member of both the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) and the International Association for Human Resource Information (IHRIM), as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Susan augmented a first degree in political science with a Masters in HR strategy and change.

Her robust theoretical background has since translated into high-level practical experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors, with organizations as diverse as Ove Arup, News International, the Department of Health, London Fire Service, De La Rue and the Royal Festival Hall. Understanding the great potential for technology to drive HR as a strategic business partner, Susan has been active in the planning, implementation and optimisation of a range of HRIS systems including Oracle and Vizual.

Alongside her work with Marshall-James, Susan is a published author and is currently working on her second book, dealing with talent and diversity within both the workplace and society at large.
